• Low-Tox Building Science using principles of Building Biology to scientifically create a built environment supporting human health 

• Inspections & QA Documentation services designed to supplying photographic quality assurance documentation at hold points for other allied professionals i.e. Engineers

We work collaboratively with allied professionals to deliver a holistic approach. Our designs integrate construction science, engineering fundamentals, and Building Biology principles to create low-tox buildings that support human health. 

Matt Bauer, Owner and Principal Designer of Blueprint Design & Consulting, having held his QBCC Building Design Licence (#1259258) since 2015. Raised in a family deeply involved in the building industry—with his father a builder and relatives across multiple trades—Matt was exposed to construction sites from an early age.

Out of school, Matt began studying Building Design through CQUniversity while working with an Engineering Consultant, where he accumulated almost two decades of experience. This long-term engineering role provided strong structural and civil expertise that clearly differentiates his work as a building designer. On-site, Matt has played leading technical inspector roles on major projects including state of the art Plasterboard Factory with a combined total site coverage of 27,000m²; a 1,400-person workers’ accommodation facility in Calliope, and a QLD Hospital development. He also worked as Lead Site Engineer for an Olympic-spec, Tier 1 Aquatic Centre project—where he developed high-level quality assurance systems and coordinated closely with trades and consultants.

Matt’s experience spans residential, commercial, industrial, and civil projects, from small decks, renovations, structural investigations, rectifications, and relocations through to shopping centres, large industrial buildings, and civil subdivisions involving roads, stormwater, sewer, and earthworks. This breadth allows him to approach residential building design with uncommon technical foresight, constructability awareness, and confidence navigating approvals. His problem-solving style is strongly engineering-driven and is known for common-sense solutions, clear documentation, and practical, out-of-the-box thinking.

Blueprint Design & Consulting was established to bring this holistic skill set together—combining building design, engineering insight, approvals knowledge, and a growing focus on healthy, low-tox built environments.

Through working alongside his wife in building her low-tox health business, BARE by Bauer, Matt developed a strong interest in healthier construction methods and materials, now woven into Blueprint’s service offering. The result is practical, builder-friendly design that prioritises compliance, durability, and the creation of healthy, long-lasting spaces.
